Memorial Weekend

This morning started with a call to my favorite Goddess. We discussed our plans for Sunday. The boys are going to do some electrics and dig up the backgarden and the girls are going to work on PR for Art is...

As I chatted to the Goddess, I baked for the boys! Banana Custard Pie and Passionfruit Pie. Yum!

Whilst I baked the big boy of our family did the gardening. My Savannah girl looks lovely in amongst her flowers.

Then it was off to the Mall to buy Flossy much needed garments and some shoes for us both! Home again and into Porch cleaning. Little does our Maxamillion know that underneath that cover there is SAND! I know I know... but hey... isn't that why vacuum cleaners were invented!

Tonight I plan to get stuck into our May Mona Lisa Challenge for Art Is....

Tomorrow it is Goddess and Engineer quality time and Monday...well let us just say that we are a month behind in book work for the accountant...!

Happy Birthday Baileys

Her gift that keeps on giving ... in more ways than one .... every day!

Thank You Mrs Pom

Pomegranates and Paper is my must read every morning. This morning I was delighted to find the most wonderful article about Art...Is. Her words capture the wonder of this event and this year I get to share it with Mum.

One Magazine in 7 Days

Well, that was the plan! But family and life always have a way of....

Day 1: This was Day 1 in the Bahamas back in Mid March....I think this pertains to Maxamillion instead of me! Because this is just what he did except it was more like Charge...instead of recharge!

Day 3: Bahamas - Gosh it is beautiful there! The island, the people, the whole feel of the place. If you have to renew visas...this is definitely the place to go!

Day 4: Back home about a month ago....Words to Live By!

Day 5: Oh if only it was that easy!

Day 6: Imagination keeps the world turning!

Day 7: ? Well let's just say that this was my day of rest!

Mum's the Word!

Of course in America this comes with the celebration that we are now becoming accustomed to! Many of my girlfriends are being treated to spas, nights away in 5 star hotels, golfing weekends and luxurious gifts. Then there are others like The Goddess (a magnificent Mother) who has by default become the hostess of the day and is busy preparing her Mother's Day luncheon. But me, when asked what I would like?....I don't want to make the coffee in the morning, I don't want to fold the washing, I want Flossy to have a room where you can see the floor boards (because all the clothes have been picked up) and finally, I want to go to Elephant Trunk Market all on my own and come home to a house that is not trashed.....Let us see what happens!

Meanwhile I want to wish some of my favorite Mothers a happy day:

Nanny - more and more each day I realize I am a chip off the "old" block and I embrace this!

Mum - Bring on October when we can do Art together. Living in New York has been hard but in a funny way it has brought me and my mum a lot closer and for that I am grateful.

Bailey's - My sister - I miss our cups of tea and your steadfast calm which works so well with my heart on the sleeve way of life.

Sa - My other sister - I wish our boys were growing up together.

Kez - KFC doesn't taste the same without you.

VC - I have made one quilt in five years...but every Christmas it reminds me of you.
SF - I don't drink Stolle's here on principal ... they can only be drunk at your house.

Happy Mother's Day Girls - enjoy your moment in the spotlight, because come Monday the bulb will probably blow and you will have to change it!

Choose your intention carefully and then practice holding your consciousness to it, so it becomes the guiding light in your life. --John Roger

Spending time with my Treehouse Girls is a light in my week that has become so important to me. With Mother's Day coming up, we shared about feelings. Inside feelings, Outside feelings and how it feels when celebrations such as Mother's Day or Father's Day arrive on our doorsteps. We (quite predictably) hit raw nerves last night and the sharing of life experiences that came from this time showed me that whilst there is approximately 34 years difference in age between me and these girls, they have certainly had their share of life experiences already. Too much to share here, but I must state the very obvious - love your family.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
